London. THE SHARD.

Heckers Peckers and oh my golly goodness.... how long is it since I last blogged????

The whole reason why we went to London in the first place was to watch the Pixen represent her country in the Aquathlon Age Group Championships....... seen here ON THE FRONT ROW right next to the team manager in red  (on the right) (on his left!)..... (OH THE PROUDNESS!!!!!!).......

Once the race was over, she was whisked off for Team GB Afternoon Tea at Hampton Court WOOPWOOP so Benners, Liddy and I went up the Shard - Liddy's 60th birthday present.

It went up and up and up and UP...

HOW SMALL does the London Eye look?!

Cloudy ...but it didn't spoil the view

Tower Bridge

THE WALKIETALKIE building is not melting any cars or burning any carpets in this weather

Even the Tower of London looked tiny from up here!

Benski came with us, it was great to spend some time with him.

HAPPY 60th BIG SIS!!!!!

I would definitely recommend going up the Shard-it made me realise just how BIG London is,  but it is very expensive for what is, in effect, just a view, not dissimilar to a view from a plane really, it is THAT high. We SOOOOOO should have gone to the loo while we were there though... we missed an opportunity to go to the highest toilets in the WORLD!  But it was a nice little treat and especially for Liddy who is 60 very soon (aaaarrrgghhhh!)
Borough Market is right next to the Shard and what a market!!!! It has some amazing stalls, one selling particularly delicious liquorice pebbles and  I bought SOOO many nuts...we sort of stumbled across it and wandered in...and  it was an absolute bonus - in fact I was in heaven for half an hour.

What a memorable, brilliant, fabulous couple of days. LOVE LOVE LOVED IT!!!!
