Falmouth, Jamaica. "You sayin'?"

Jamaica!

Yeah Mon.

"Yeah, Mon"

Yeah Mon.

We fully expected to be hassled when we left the ship...rich wealthy cruisers visiting poor needy Jamaicans, surely they want to hassle us? But there was nothing of the sort. Elvis had got it down to a tee. He sidled up to us without us even noticing and he subtly glued himself to our sides, urging us to follow. To be fair he was very likeable and he showed us Usain Bolt's church. He still has relatives in the parish.

and he fixed us up with Michael Foster taxi man who was lovely.
Yeah Mon.

Celebrity Reflection SHOULD HAVE berthed at Montego Bay but as it berthed at Falmouth instead we asked Michael to take us to Montego Bay.

Every time I see a McDonalds I think about what Michael told us on the way to Montego Bay.
There are NO McDonalds burger outlets on Jamaica because they didn't do their research. Their burgers just aren't big enough. Americans eat twice a day, yeah mon, so they need a big hit, yeah mon.

We heard how the name Montego is spanish for "manteca" meaning lard. Mongooses (mongeese???) were brought into the country to tackle the snakes and were then killed for their lard which was used for engineering. Lard from pigs and boar was exported from Montego Bay.

We passed a brand new hospital. "Oh that's a hospital for the rich. Yeah Mon" said Michael.

We passed a very swanky Sandals resort.

We bought some rum for Dids for Christmas.

And then we were dropped off at Doctors Cove.

So called because people first began to bathe here for health reasons.
Either that or Doc was prescribing a holiday to make you feel better. :)

Doctors Orders. He got THAT right. Yeah Mon.

We swam and sweated and planked.

But we DIDN'T do THIS.

We had a beer or two.

And then back to the port to search for a tee shirt with Yeah Mon on it.

Tonight was mermaid-in-the-swimming-pool night (bit weird)

and photos in the hideyholes and general hilarity around the boat.
Fabulous. Yeah Mon.

Day at sea...

...and next stop A BAHAMA!!!!
