Cov in Nov! Liddy and Arthur's birthdays.Sunday roast and CAKE.

The Annual Coventry MeetUp didn't happen this year so I went by myself.
No stopping me! 😉
Armed with Christmas presents and birthday presents and love and hugs, I hit the road early (I cancelled my Sunday Leap) giving me chance for a delightful, cherished catch up with Big Sis before the rest of the Chads arrived and it was lovely.

ShaSha brought the adorable and amazing Bet,

...and Ross brought the Tremendous Trio.
Lid did a magnificent job of, not only cooking a roast for us all..

but also making a cricket cake for Arthur...

...AND some cupcakes for herself.

Yes, Freya, exactly!
WOW!
You can always rely on Freya to enhance a photo!

When the family genes were dished out, Liddy definitely got the cooking ones.
And baking. And sewing.
Basically she is ace.

I mean....💙

I'm not sure who was more pleased with this little beauty, Arthur or Ross.
I was just jealous!
PUSB PUSB!
Pop-Up books are always a hit.
Though how long they will last is anyone's guess haha.

Woohooo, what a happy Sunday.✔✔✔

THE KNIFE ANGEL by Alfie Bradley.

First we fed the ducks and then we went to see the Knife Angel and then we had a bath in a box.

Save a Life, Surrender your Knife.

The Knife Angel is 27ft high and is made from 100,000 knives that have been surrendered to knife banks all over the country.

It came to Chester for the month of November as part of its UK tour.
It was made at the Ironworks Centre in Oswestry out of 100,000 knives that had been handed in to the 200 knife banks across the UK which were set up by the Ironworks in a project to bring awareness to knife crime and  to promote peace

Artist  Alfie Bradley discussed the idea of creating an Angel sculpture out of knives to bring knife crime to the attention of society. He suggested knife amnesties, and with the Ironworks supplying knife bins and with co-operation from the police, the campaign took off.
Amnesties were run and knives were handed in anonymously in a total of 200 knife banks created at the Ironworks at their own cost.

Once the knives were brought to Shropshire, Alfie got cracking. He disinfected every blade (a third still had bodily fluids on them) and then blunted each one before welding them on to the sculpture. The wings were made of blades only.

Messages of hope and love have been engraved on some of the blades, Some from families who lost a loved one to knife crime but also some from perpetrators who have seen the error of their ways and now fight knife crime. Amazing,

What a superb and powerful piece of art.

Even Sophie was mesmerised by it.

And then she had a bath in a box.

Cholmondeley Arms with Diesel. Nov 2019

I had a great LadiesWhoLunch meet-up with Diesel.
We met at The Cholmondeley Arms which was a lovely little drive out through the beautiful Cheshire countryside, and bringing back fond memories of Husb's first cricket club. I think I had a dish of chips and she had a dish of cauliflower cheese and obviously several pots of tea, hey no messin' with us eh, we know how to live it up. I don't think we stopped talking.
You can't beat a good catch up with your bezzie.

It's a lovely pub. It was formally a Victorian village school on Lord Cholmondeley's estate(1862)
It was converted in 1988 into the first pub on the estate and still maintains many of its original features, it's a charming pub with a lot of character.
We felt a bit like The Housewives of Cheshire haha.

CHIPSnCHIPS at Christleton Cricket Club

As usual Mandy did a great job of decorating the cricket club for our casino night which was great fun, especially as it wasn't real money but they WERE real chips.

It was a bit addictive though and I DID spend some real money buying more chips.
Oooops.
All for the club, folks, all for the club.

The young lads couldn't get enough of it!
I couldn't even get close to the table!
Bu

t it was fascinating to watch the croupiers' fast hands, they were so quick.

At one point I felt quite rich.
Nothing lasts forever.

Claire (rabbits) and Helen (spin)

I backed the green ZERO every time.

It was quite well supported.
It's a pity more players didn't support the event though because it was a great night.
