Nem and I really weren't "feeling it" this year but as the day approached we knew we'd regret not running it once the day came so we covered our class and swimming lessons and asked around for any spare tickets going.Quite often people enter but then don't make the start line due to injury or other circumstances.
Look at our bib names!! IT WAS A SIGN!
Nem was running with her sister's name and I was running with my mum's.
But it was Nem's first MARRIED Half so she needed to be Mrs Hen.
Well in that case I needed to be Mrs Bear.
The trouble was, nobody could read these very well so hardly anyone cheered our names as we sped past them.
We met Mark on the Roodee at the start.
Morgan was on the water station.
AND THEN WE WERE OFF!
It was a slightly different start this year, turning right out of the racecourse and heading towards The Architect and the Grosvenor Museum, but I wouldn't describe it as a City Centre run, not by a long chalk. (My lovely Dad always said that)
Yes, this is an ACTION shot. Honestly, I'm such a fool at times.
These are a bit more normal.
CLARE.
JO OCONNELL! :)
ALISON
CHRIS.
Can you see my turquoise shoulder and green shoe behind the giddy-up man?
TIM.
ALISON.
CLARE.
Northgate Street, final furlong!
Sonia and Sarah finishing their very first Half.
Try telling THIS to Fee!
OUCHY OUCHY!!!
We were all awesome.
Lisa, Nem and I even did a celebratory plank at the finish :)
Nem had enough puff to give me a piggyback.
MAGDA was great.
Alison hadn't trained nearly enough but she did it in under 2 hours.
Sarah had only just got her dodgy ankle working again after a netball injury.
GOOD LEGS GOOD LEGS US FOUR!
Well. I should hope so, we all do enough spinning.
