RAJA!!!

Oh my goodness, what a wonderful surprise Husb and I had at cricket today!

There I was, pouring tea for 25 men in white, when in walked a friend who we haven't seen for about 20 years. I'm still beaming. 25 years ago when I was pregnant with Pixen and Cub, we had a holiday in Lostwithiel, Cornwall with Chico and Raja and 3 other couples. Being the energetic type I was keen to join the lads on the deep sea fishing trip even though the weather was so bad only one boat was prepared to go out, while the ladies went shopping. I don't know quite how (being pregnant obviously helped??) but I was the only one who wasn't sick.... look at the size of the waves... the boat was being thrown about all over the place...even Raja was pale! It was brilliant (it was so rough it was funny)-we talked about it for months afterwards and this photo is up on our hall wall.

Raj went back to India and is now VERY IMPORTANT! Our lovely little friend from that memorable boat trip is now one of India's Test Cricket selectors and he had been over to England to watch India A on tour, visiting several county grounds around the country.

(Mr Venkatraman-A TEST SELECTOR FOR THE NATIONAL SIDE werhooooooo!!)

Read his official profile here!

(NB no mention of him playing cricket with Husb for Chester Cathedral!!)

Oh my goodness what a brilliant surprise, it made my day. I'm still beaming.
