SPLIT, CROATIA

Dad is still here with us so blogging time is limited but "Back to the Cruise"
and SPLIT.

Having enjoyed 3 fabulous days in Dubrovnik and Venice, I wondered if I might be disappointed with Split but NOT AT ALL, its a lovely place. And look at our sail-in....(view from our cabin balcony) we couldn't have had any more blue.

Split is the 2nd largest city in Croatia emerging from a palace built by the Roman Emporer Diocletian, this is now a stunning shopping arcade.

Statue of Gregory of Nin

This statue by Ivan Maestrovic represents Grgur Ninski, a religious leader in the 10th century, his big toe is made in shiny gold which visitors have rubbed for luck, year after year....I was just happy to pose.

We had a good day wandering around the Old Town and back scratching against trees

the harbour is pretty (and very blue)

and the Art Gallery was fun

Another good day!
