Craster to Dunstanburgh, Barter Books (2)

We had a lovely walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh Castle (well, WE did, but supermum NixenPixen had to do a lot of child carrying)...
and there was plenty of kite flying, planking and shivering...all very lovely but quite bracing.

..and then we retraced our steps back to Craster to see where they smoke the fish.
WELL....
It turns out...
Andy Phelan's relations run the company!
The Robsons are his cousins.

Craster was very busy, so busy that we left and headed back to Alnwick where we accidentally ended up in Carlo's fish and chip shop, voted the 3rd best chippy in the UK so we had to try it really, didn't we...
then Husb and I left the Bells
and tootled off to the Largest Second Hand Bookshop in the World.
BARTERS BOOKS
Set in the old Alnwick station.
It was mahoosive and (a bit) overwhelming (so much choice!) and we didn't have much time...

...so we went back along the beach, after having a weewee in the public toilets that used to be a holding enclosure to house stray animals...

to plank in the sea....

and then strolled around the oldest 9 hole Links golf course in the UK.

Holes 7 and 16...CRIKEY!
