Rich Hennahane, our Paralympic HERO

The excitement started back in May when Rich collected his Team GB kit... very smart (and very exciting!) Naturally I wanted a photo so Rich fetched his bow ... I couldn't believe the SIZE of it...I was most impressed. (It looks like a bike on this photo!)

BP issued plenty of postcards featuring his profile picture which he duly signed.

Rich was shooting in the "rankings" the day after the Opening Ceremony so he needed a good night's sleep but he certainly didn't want to miss the buzz of the Olympic Park so he went for the athlete's parade and then got whisked off to bed. We were glued to the screen and managed to get a glimpse of him as he walked into the stadium, he said the noise was deafening and something he'll never forget.

There was a very proud Hennahane family at the Royal Artillery Barracks to watch Rich shooting
 aiming at a 122cm-diameter target 70m away.
He did really well but lost 6-4 to Jiri Klich.

We are all so proud of him.

I'm also just a tiny little bit extremely VERY jealous of him. For the Athletes' Victory Parade on Monday not only was he on MO FARAH'S PARADE FLOAT through the streets of London but when they all got off for the speeches,he was also stood just a FEW FEET AWAY from the man with the most beautiful voice in the world - My favourite Pet Shop Boy, Neil Tennant.

He is clapping! He likes ♫♫ "Go West" ♫♫
...And somehow appeared to be David Cameron's body guard when Boris was doing his bit.

Could he have stood any nearer to the P.M.????!!!

We saw Mr Cameron turn and shake Rich's hand.

We were so busy photographing the TV screen we didn't hear what Ben Shephard was saying!

THIS IS HIS LEG!!!!!!!!!!!!

Front Left  ^ Rich is the only one wearing SHORTS! Found him?
With MR BEAN!!!!
What a fantastic achievement to get into the Team GB squad and especially to get to a Home Paralympics in London.
He had the best time of his life! I have made him slightly more famous than he realises by increasing the number of "Bow and Arrows" in Aerobics... we have loved every minute too!

WELL DONE RICH!

It just so happens The Pet Shop Boys have made an Olympic song called "Winner"...ENJOY!
