Las Vegas

I still can't believe we actually went to Las Vegas. LAS VEGAS! Even now Husb and I say to each other "Did we really DO that?" It was great fun... but a long journey. We were up at 5.45am for Drake to take us to Manchester Airport for our first flight with Delta Airlines, Manchester to Atlanta. Hmmmmmm........ no leg room, no in-flight entertainment, not the best food, Husb managed to break 2 pairs of headphones and he spilt his glass of water all over us..... but otherwise a good flight.

The 2 hours spent in Atlanta was spent just getting THROUGH Atlanta, we had so many security checks, fingerprints, body scans, interviews.... and Atlanta Airport is like a TOWN its MASSIVE!

Our second flight was from Atlanta to Las Vegas and WOW what a view coming in to land. I didn't take this photo but the LUXOR hotel stood out amongst the rest and that was where we were staying.... WOOOOOOOO .... A PYRAMID!! Look at the size of it.

The heat hit us as soon as we got off the plane, 42 degrees, like OMG hot!

What an amazing hotel...this was the front entrance.

Inside the foyer

Looking down into the hotel foyer from our room on the 18th floor from inside the pyramid roof!
It was about 3am UK time but 5pm Vegas time so  NO TIME TO LOSE! We threw the bags in our room (heck our room was like an appartment with a lounge, bedroom, jacuzzi, 2 flat screen TVs...) and although we were goosed, we headed off into town and walked up and down the strip. Las Vegas is definitely impressive at night!

The beam from the top of the pyramid
You can see the Luxor's beam for miles! There was no chance of us getting lost.

We just wandered up and down the strip, nipping in and out of all the amazing hotels.
We'd heard a lot about Vegas but we didn't appreciate the size of these hotels till we were actually there.

Hotel New York New York

They had thought of everything!

Eiffel Tower at the ParisLasVegas

There were lights everywhere, it was crazy.

We lasted till 11pm! Up early in the morning for the Grand Canyon WHOOP WHOOP!

Only you could stay up until 11pm the day you got there! I've got a cup of coffee and beginning here with the Hollindale Megacruise. Amazing pictures. I've never really wanted to go to Las Vegas but now I do!

We probably wouldn't have selected Vegas for a holiday destination but
a) it was only for a couple of days and
b) one of the days was the Grand Canyon trip and
c) we are so glad we've been!
