So, Pier 39 had to be done and this meant a quick look at the smelly, noisy sea lions (which to be fair, were actually less smelly and noisy than they might have been because there weren't many of them)...
...and it meant the sweetest, juiciest nectarine ever...
by the roundabout...
...and a visit to BLAZING SADDLES Bike Hire,
because, let's face it, who doesn't want to cycle over the Golden Gate Bridge?
Bells had his VERY IMPORTANT backpack on.
Pixen, Nem and Ian had no idea what was about to happen.
Off they went,
Pixen waving her left hand which would soon be adorned WITH A RING.
But they hadn't pedalled over the bridge yet.
Look at her FACE! And he hadn't asked her yet!!
It was the perfect day for a PROPOSAL :)
Look at HIS face!! He knew what the answer would be.
These smiles were about to get bigger.
But they still needed to bike over the bridge.
Meanwhile, Husb and I tootled about the Pier...
...past the Sour Dough bakery, which SMELT AMAAAAZINGGG.
The Original San Francisco Sourdough™
In 1849, the Boudin family struck culinary gold. Wild yeasts in the San Francisco air had imparted a unique tang to their traditional French bread, giving rise to “San Francisco sourdough French bread.” Today, the Boudin family's initial recipe lives on in the hands and hearts of our expert bakers, with a portion of the original mother dough still starting each and every sourdough loaf we make. Boudin history since 1849.
...and we caught the ferry over to Saucalito to meet them, sailing past Alcatraz which we were saving for the last day.
By the time we had ordered the fish'n'chips she had SAID YES!
The ring was ON!
And apart from the plank to celebrate the loveliness of love....
nothing else of note happened today. It was all about the love.
We just smiled and hugged and laughed and nearly cried and had an icecream and just felt the ten out of ten love for Team HolliBelly.
