Sunday walk #5 Hoylake Red Rocks

We like Hoylake.
It had chucked it down all morning and wasn't really very Sundaywalkiesweather but I had to go and see a man about a frame (!!) so we were going to Hoylake anyway. This time we turned left and walked on the sand round to the Red Rocks and the lighthouse.

I found a bit of sand big enough to write "International Women's Day" in.
There was, of course, just enough sand to do a plank.

Sunday Walk #4 West Kirby Take Two.

So we went back to West Kirby and dittoed everything on the last post ... up to the wrong turn and got it absolutely right, scrambling down to the beach and walking back round the marina. YAY!

Sunday Walk #3 West Kirby

This walk started off well.
Husb had researched it and had a map and had directions, what could go wrong?

Pass the lake and go through the park.

"walk up to the column"

"Continue along the scrub overlooking the estuary"

And then we got lost.

One wrong turn and we ended up walking back along the road (NOT SCENIC and NOT THE PLAN) and Husb was late for cricket nets and I was late for the Cheshire Phoenix Jets basketball. OOOPS.
It was good exercise though. We walked at least 6 miles. ;)

And if  we had gone the right way we would have missed a horse on a hill.

Sunday walk #2 Hilbre Island

We started at West Kirby and walked across to Hilbre Island  while the tide was out.

The tide was well and truly out!

or so we thought!

We should have worn wellies!

The sand was very arty.

and our shadows made us look like we were back in the 70s with bell bottom jeans.

We crunched on the shells.

and reached Hilbre Island.

There's nothing there. Apart from us and a couple of dog walkers.

"Always look for an opportunity to do a plank" I tell my class, so first one leg..

and then the other.

It was a lovely walk and I made friends with a dolphin!
