Tha "After Hours Tour of St Mark's Basilica" was a must so we vaporettoed back with the crowd for a fantastic evening where we had exclusive access to
St Mark's. The inside is gleaming with gold mosaics and as we sat admiring the ceiling, one by one each of the cupolas was illuminated for us before visiting the crypt and finally the "treasure", the Pala d'Oro, a gem encrusted altar piece from the 10th century.
Then it was back to the boat.
