Mauritius ..Ile Aux Cerfs

YAY! Boat trip!
This was a lovely day and it was really warm despite the pictures looking dull.
Husb had done his research and he booked us a private trip to the opposite side of the island where we were taken by a boat to a little island,  Ile Aux Cerfs.

Île aux Cerfs is a privately owned island near the east coast of Mauritius in the Flacq District. The island of Ile aux Cerfs lies off Trou d’Eau Douce in the largest lagoon of Mauritius and offers 87 hectares of luxuriant vegetation and preserved, white, sandy beaches.

All the taxi drivers and boat steerers are football mad.
Mostly Liverpool FC mad but it was either Liverpool or Man Utd.
I dared to mention my brother's love for Man City and nearly had to get out and walk, haha,
They all told us they could live without food but not the English Premier League.

The island really was beautiful.

We had a few hours to relax (and plank) there before being taken past lots of monkeys...

and then reversed into a waterfall.

This appeared to be his party trick.

Because we all got wet!

Lunch was tricky.
It would have been delicious if it hadn't been marinated in a zillion cloves of garlic.
But we tried to eat a bit.

As we had to soak up all the complimentary rum.

The fresh pineapple pud was delicious though.

The mountain, above, is fondly referred to as
Mother Mary Mountain as it looks like she is holding her hands out as below.

And then it got a bit dramatic because we had to get a private boat and taxi  back to Port Louis  because Boudicca was sailing at 5.30pm.
It was a fast boatride back!
Great day though.

Enough time for a quick brush-up and slap-on.
I don't take long :)

And as I do...
 I HUGGED THE CAPTAIN
