Well.
We left the glorious sunshine of Tenerife to spend a day in the mist and rain of Madeira.
Which got progressively worse the higher up we went in the cable car.
So we had a quick look in the church at the top..and came straight back down again as the botanical gardens were closed and the settee ride wasn't running.
Yes, I cablecarred back down in style.
There were magnificent Portuguese tarts at the bottom and I will admit, we went back for a second helping. Soooo good.
The Church of Saint John the Evangelist was beautiful.
The art work on the street doors was fantastic.
Christmas lights were up to scratch and so pretty.
We have never felt so Christmassy.
That'll be two fish'n'chips then please.
So it ended up being a nice day, although we'd have preferred to stay in Tenerife.
