It was another beautiful day.
We traveled independently to NICE, catching the train, and once again enjoyed a brilliant walking tour of the city.
Can you see the seven kneeling figures on the plinths below?
They represent the 7 continents.
Nice welcomes EVERYBODY.
During the revolution there was a tax on all doors and windows so the residents of Nice painted on windows and sills (I know, they look real don't they!) The buildings looked stylish and wealthy.
Neuf Lignes Obliques is a steel monument on the prom by French artist Bernar Venet.
Can you believe it.... this ALSO had to be moved... to make the underground carpark.
Nice Cathedral
This is Saint Reparata, who was martyred for her Christian faith.
Her persecutors tried to burn her alive but she was saved by rain, and when she refused to drink, suspecting poison, she was beheaded.
and then we walked up and up and up to the castle.
(ONE BRICK REMAINS!)
Fountains at the top by the "castle."
Yes of course I did.
And back along the prom where there are more cracks on the Nice prom than the wicket at Christleton ;)
Wrong pose Ali, it's not a tree!
Yes, it's a chair!
We thought this hotel looked fabulous.
It is where Dee stayed recently.
What a lovely day.
Back on ship and if you let me loose on the buffet then I SHALL have beetroot quinoa and chips LOL
Never miss an opportunity to plank even if you're in a dress.Especially if there are mirrors.
