Middleton on Teesdale -->Amble July 2022

Well that wasn't the best start to our week up in Northumberland.
It was ironic that Husb had had the tyres checked the morning we set off ...they were all fine....
yet we had a flat tyre..... the AA man found a nail that had caused the puncture. The hard shoulder on a busy M6 was a scary place, but we were made to feel safe by the AA man...we couldn't fault the AA service and the professionalism the AA man showed.

We carried on... at 60mph ....(the B6279 is such a pretty road)...
and arrived at the Teesdale Hotel in Middleton on Teesdale in time for tea.

We DEFINITELY deserved f'n'ch!
They scored ten out of ten!
And then we walked them off.
Passing the cutest teddybear sheep.

We parked at Bowlees and walked from Low Force to High Force, a five mile walk.

High Force is England’s biggest waterfall, spectacularly drops 70 feet (21m) into a plunge pool below.

From its rise as a trickle, high on the heather covered fells at the top of the North Pennines, to the top of the whin sill rock at Forest -in-Teesdale, the River Tees steadily grows and gathers pace.

Middleton is famous for its planks on sheep (?!!) and its knitted things.
Especially Platinum Jubilee knitted things.
